2024 Week 48
Hello, Springers!
Here is a quick and important update on end-of-year giving. We’re close to the finish line. Completing the race will take all of us.
There are six Sundays left in 2024. We have a goal to raise the entirety of our budget.
So what is the need?
$297,839
Raising this total amount between now and year’s end would fully fund our ministry, including giving year-end gifts to the missions we support.
Remember, we set a goal to raise $150,000 in “new and beyond” giving this fall. We divided it into $50,000 segments over the last three months. From September 15th to October 15th we raised $36,000. From October 15th to November 15th we raised $61,000.
This means that as we head from now to December 15th we are looking for $53,000 in “new and beyond” giving.
If you’ve never given to Valley Springs but call it your church home, your giving matters now more than ever.
As we head to the finish line of 2024, I’m so excited to be your new pastor. You have welcomed Gina and I with open arms. I especially appreciate our staff and officers who have put in extra time and effort so that we could have a successful transition as a church family. Thank you for your generosity.
Ministry is going strong.
Men’s and women’s Bible studies have wrapped for the semester. I’ve heard from several of you about what you learned in our survey of the gospel of Mark and how you are applying it in your daily lives.
Also, we hosted a lunch for church leaders this week in conjunction with World Relief to learn more about how we can practically love our neighbors who have come to our area from other countries for the first time. Your generosity makes this ministry possible.
We have also gained several new members and attenders because we have worked to truly be a welcoming church. We want to continue to grow in this ability in 2025. We want the grace that we have received to be the motivation and the power in our lives to give grace to others and invite them in. We want everyone to know the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is our heartbeat.
Let it be your heartbeat, too.
What will you give?
Remember the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, for your sake he became poor so that you through his poverty might become rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)
in Christ,
Pastor Tag
