2024 Week 30

Hello Springers!

I’m excited about a milestone we’re hitting this Sunday. This will be the fourth week in a row that I’m present in worship with you! Yes, since I began in January, the longest stretch of Sundays that we have been together has been three weeks. So I’m thankful that we’ve made it through survival mode, the transition, and now we’re embarking on a new normal together.

Worship is normal for God’s people. That’s what I want you to consider this week. Maybe you already think that. But I’m sure you have friends and loved ones who view you as a person with an odd habit – the habit of worship. Whenever we gather to worship the risen Lord Jesus Christ, we declare that there is a new normal in the world that governs our lives.

Worship each week is not just a routine, but a transformative experience. It’s a chance for us to reset our lives, to refocus on what truly matters. We come into God’s presence, praise our Creator and Redeemer, confess our sins, receive His assurance of pardon, hear from His word, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper. If we are the clay and He is the potter, then worship is the pottery wheel where He shapes us each week.

That’s why I’m excited that this week marks four weeks in a row for our new normal together. God is shaping us as we come into His presence and worship.

I can’t wait to be with you this Sunday.

in Christ,
